Future Developments and Risks:

Future developments may include greater recognition of art therapy’s value in special education, which could lead to the emergence of new techniques and its deeper integration into standard educational frameworks; advances in digital art therapy tools making the practice more accessible and adaptable; and the expansion of training programs and certifications for educators and therapists. If government guidelines do not change, however, the benefits of art therapy risk remaining limited to certain schools or regions—causing unequal access; the absence of standardized guidelines could undermine the quality and consistency of art therapy efforts; and a failure to support inclusive, creative educational approaches could worsen the challenges of meeting the needs of children with special needs, potentially increasing behavioral issues and emotional difficulties
